Local Japanese Car wreckers?? Search for crying out loud

Its not where, its 'if' you can find one.

not an easy engine to find.

It'll fit your car if you have the $$$

You would need stronger custom engine mounts and front brake upgrades.

He doesnt need the JDM H22a out of the Type S, the normal h22a1/4's are barely any different power output, all it is is some intake and exaust modifications.

Engine Capac Comp Bore x Stroke Torque Power
H22A1 2156cc 10 85x95 DOHC VTEC 201Nm@5000 142kw@6800
H22A2 2157cc 10 87x91 DOHC VTEC 212Nm@5300 147kw@7000
H22A4 2157cc 10 87x91 DOHC VTEC 212Nm@5300 147kw@7000

There pritty easy to find the h22a1, 2, and 4. Cos there out of AUDM engines, the h22a1 being 200 hp and the 2 and 4 being 220 hp. You will need mounts...

I beleive ken has done this conversion is his Exi accord.

JDM Type S has red rocker cover from factory
JDM h22a is just normal black cover one.

i would look at the type S engine instead..you have to source one overseas..or check whether the honda wrecker can get one in..

type s only comes in the 5th gen preludes. there's one at abc wreckers for about 6k
but too much hassle cos they are obd2 and u'll have to change the wiring harness.
just stick to the normal h22's

type s has dlarger intake and airbox, port and polished head, better headers, larger A pipe and exhaust, also comes with meatier cams, higher compression pistons and a red valve cover. power is 220hp

Will cost twice as much as JDM 200hp h22a and yes, is obd2.

JDM h22a has the engine prefix H22A it has no numbers after it ie H22A1 etc. if it is not simply H22A, it is not jap spec.

jap spec comes with better ECU, tuned for jap fuel and while it will handle optimax and ultimate its when u put a bottle of octane boost in the tank is when it starts to scream lol.

also, look out for M2B4 code on gearbox, this is the only one with a factory LSD.

Type S is not the only high performing H22A thats out there... the Accord Euro R (CL1) H22A Red top with Euro R single runner intake Part no. 17100-PDE-E00 would be the other one to get... More refinements on the engine/head work to the cams, intake manifold, exhaust manifold and yes the gearbox.... (refer below)

Here is a comparision of H22A Gearboxes from different generations, there are other models that come with LSD however these will be pretty impossible to source and the cost would be pretty high as well...

If you really want a Euro R H22A with the above mention components, one of my sources has told me they have one avaliable to them but dont expect it to be cheap... If your interested give me a PM....

I'ts not hard to bring a standard h22a up to a type S h22a....

and there is not as much potential for the type S engine as its already very refined.. It's up to you if you wanna spend the extra cash..
