Removing fish oil.

So I have started painting my car... It have no garage so I'm getting the primer done outside in the driveway.

It rained for like a whole week when I was trying to get it in etch primer so I sprayed layers and layers of fish oil on the bonnet to prevent rust.

Still has abit of surface rust cause of the moisture.

Has a thick layer of greasy fish oil and paint stripper all over the bonnet... mostly fish oil though.

Just wanted to know what's the best way of removing all this before getting the etch primer on and surface rust sanded back...

It's only very light surface rust.

sand it back with some detergent, rinse and wipe it off with wax/grease remover

It's only very light surface rust.

if you live in syd you can come pick up some water thats pH balanced to 14. that will dissolve the fish oil and prevent any bonnet corrosion.
