Hi all,
I've noticed that a part of my wheel area (hard to describe without knowing the actual name) is just a mass of rust. The place I mean is like, where the wheel meets the brake disc, so not a part of the disc that gets cleaned by braking. Now, most newer cars you dont see this, (its bright orange brown and is an eyesore.)
So i assume there must be some kind of treatment to apply to prevent rust there? Does anybody have any info on this? Something I can do or does it need to go into a shop somewhere?

the brake hub. it's normal.
you can scrub it off and paint it if you feel it necessary

Just follow the DIY process to paint calipers. (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?92872-DIY-Painting-brake-caliper)
I tried replacing the rotors entirely thinking the rust brake hubs would go away but it didnt.
Definitely would recommend painting em.

I hadnt thought of painting calipers... is going red on a graphite car too tryhard? I kind of want to... but as for the hub, do I sand back rust and paint, say black? or just sand it off and keep it greased or something to prevent rusting

dont paint part where brake disc meet wheel.

i have not stopped laughing at that picture of the red paint.
lol
so funny.
man i had the same issue, just give it a light sand back... or maybe a heavy sand... and go buy some calliper paint... mask up the disc, and spray that section. boom, will never rust again.
i sprayed mine black. once its sealed with the caliper paint, it wont rust.
mine came up fine!
i now have replaced my fronts with DBA 4000 xs and they come painted gold.... but rears still black. takes about 2 hours to do it all - take off all the rotors and do it. easier and faster.
cheers

Black the hubs, always looks good. Just painted them with caliper paint and then let them touch dry. (20min) bam put them on the car and off you go.
