I'm in the market for new suspension for my 94 Accord.

As you all know the front sits a tad higher than the read so I'm opting for coil overs. A friend has mentioned WHITELINE, but they don't seem to list a kit in their catalogue.

I'm open to suggestions from you guys here. I've got $1500 max to spend, I have a family so I also want comfort rather than bouncing around like a jack rabbit on heat.

Thanks guys
George

How low do you want to go?

as razaman asked, how low do you wanna go?

The omni coilovers are supposed to be quite good, and come in under your budget. Just get one of the softer spring rates (beware that soft springs in accords arent a good idea if you wanna go low). Also there are Tein SS (which you would almost certainly have to import from the US) but i dont know how low they go.

Otherwise, it'd be second hand pretty much.

Oh and whiteline coilovers would be more than double that budget!

I would suggest a nice superlow spring matched with an aftermarket shock (+ install) would easily be in your budget.

Drop would be around 2 inches (2 finger gap)

i suggest you don't go coilovers. they cost an arm and a leg, and unless you're thinking of doing serious track work you dont need the advantage they have over a good spring/shock absorber package. They also tend to have a harsher ride which you don't want.

WHITELINE dont make anything apart from a rear sway bar :(

all i want coil overs for is to lower the front same height as the back. many of you know that the STANDARD lowered springs that you get from XYZ stores have the front a little higher, also COMFORT is a must for the family. I want it nice, but not ultra low as i've had low cars before and my back still hurts from them :D

Nah man not true. Not all springs give you that result. I had kings springs and they were uneven, now I have lovell superlows and the are EXACTLY the same gap. I have them matched with factory shocks!

My accord is a family car as well as it's pretty comfortable - no complaints so far.

when i had kmac springs on Koni yellows they were even front and rear, Was a good combo for a decent ride as well. A lot of US guys use Eibach springs on Koni yellows, thats apparently a fantastic combination.

ALso not that Koni's have a couple of different perch positions on the shocks, so you can change the ride height by about half an inch front and rear if you have to even it up a bit

i got them fitted to mine 94 accrod VTI-S. I love them.. well, they've soften up a bit now, and would like to a tad stiffer just for that extra touch of the sporty feeling.. considering strut & sway bars, and bushes soonish.. but i hear struts & sways will make the car quite scatty in the wet.. can anyone confirm / deny this??

i got them fitted and aligned for $1600 about a year ago by heasmen's steering over at st peters / sydenham (i think)..

i replaced the standard springs and shocks with low king springs and monroe gt shocks/struts, I think it lowers it enough if your not into the "slammed" look and the comfort and handling is excellent, the car turns as if its on rails but will not get upset by mid corner bumps etc, the ride is refined and taught with out being harsh. I have some connections and got all the parts for under $700.00 new, rrp is around $1300.00

here is a before and after pic

That's cheap for what you got done :)

Can you tell me where you got the Black side lights from? I want to get some also, but a bit worried about buying from USA on eBay...
