My power steering pump has apparently stuffed up, so i'm after another one...

Question is, do i need to source an (B16B) ek9 civic type r pump??? Or can i use one from an ek4 (B16A), or even another honda??

That is, is there any difference between the B16B pump and say B16A or B18C??

I got no idea guys... and if it so happens that i need the ek9 one, i'll also need help on sourcing this part... so look at this as a query and wanted thread :D

for one....check the serial on the compressor etc - and then check it on a mates b16a series one - essentially , i think they would be almost the exact same dimension wise so...why not ?!?

If you go honda and show them ur car...they won't even have an idea what kinda parts is for your car...and if you said that is smth like a ITR...they will be lost..and if you tell then is smth like a VTIR civic...they will go and check on the comp and get you smth else...

can i ask smth...when you steer..is it really heavy like no power steering at all or it's just heavy to steer?
hmm...

lol... yeah of course, sum dealers would have no clue.

nah, my steering was fine... wot happened was a belt sounded like it was rubbing... got to a point where it was really loud. didn't know wot it was, so took it to my mechanic n he said it was the power steering pump that needs to be replaced. i'm probably gonna go check it out tmrw after work, then try to find this damn part and not blow my wallet again... bah.
