Will this sensor be suitable for a d16y4?

Looks right but count how many pins there are in your plug, the one in the picture is 3 which from memory is right. And also O2 Sensors are made by Denso just like the A/C Compressor and the Alternator so you should be alright.

Can anyone confirm the model number for a denso d16y4 o2 sensor?

I don't think that one will fit mate. My d16y4 has only a 1-wire o2 sensor
Check what your one looks like before you buy
That being said, it could be just a generic photo that the sellers use and it does not represent the actual item
Mine looks alot more like this one http://www.o2sensors.com.au/product/1274/3548#!zoom[product]/0/

these are for american models I think, I pretty sure though that all O2's that have 4 wires will have the same output.
and if its got the 4 wire plug sensor I think the wires are in the same places.

says it fits.
or use the NGK site.

Yeah that's where I got confused. What do they call an EK over there? and do they have a d16y4?

i think it was confirmed in another topic. or you could always just look at it with your eyes, a 4 wire one will be at the bottom of the headers before the cat.
a 1 wire will be between the headers and the engine head to keep it hot.
