Hi guys,

Got someone wrecking an EP3 R with brembos.

I am looking at buying them as they are quite cheap.

The question I have is; do i need anything off the car besides the brembos, rotors and pads. Will everything else match?

Or do I need to get other parts?

Thanks,

Ross

It might be an idea to see if he has the prop valve (if he's willing to part with that) as the bias between Brembos and stock EP3 brakes will be different.

Got the whole setup. Car has 130kms. Is it worth rebuilding calipers?

Ep3 didn't come with brembos - these are obviously off a jdm dc5r ?

They will be bolt onto your car

You sure it was not an option? Definitely has Brembos, could be from a DC5 though who knows.

As mentioned above EP3 never came stock with Brembos, usually only japspecs get Brembos stock - seeing as though 99% of the EP3 in Aus are the JDM ones and none have it they are probably from the JDM DC5R or from some other car.

Hi guys,

Got some pics of the brembos (click the thumbnail to make them bigger). Definitely not factory as they're running spacers!

Is it worth grabbing them and running the spacers aswell, as I have heard that spacers are unsafe. I want brembos but I don't want to compromise handling and safety???

I will be swapping my standard setup plus $200. What do you guys think?

Ye, I just confirmed what you said.

Are there any issues with this setup? Spacers and all?

Ye, I just confirmed what you said.

The only issue is that they are not ep3r brembos, but after market ones, depending on if you realllllyyyyyy want ep3r brembos, you will have to look really hard

All information is not here! We established EP3 does not come with brembos when I posted pics of the setup running spacers.

I then asked if anyone knows if there are any safety issues with running the setup in the pics as I am unsure how safe spacers are....

Dude I just told you...

EP3 didn't come with brembos, so I don't think it will clear as well as oem brakes.

Why do people keep telling me Brembos are not factory on the EP3R? I already said that they are definitely not standard as mentioned in the above post!

Again - I am looking to purchase the setup from someone wrecking an EP3 Type R (Yes the photos I posted are of an EP3 Type R). I am asking if it is safe to run the setup in the pictures. As I have heard that running spacers is unsafe.

Does anyone know about spacers. Not if the EP3 came with brembos

Yeah EP3 doesn't come with Brembo's mate, judging by the pic it seems to be aftermarket

Dude you really do not understand do you.

Please take a leaf from your own book, and read VERY carefully at the information presented, before having a whine about no one helping.

Also a quick search on peoples experiences with spacers will answer any queries you have about them

You can run the brembos on ep3 but make sure your wheels are 17x7.5 or biger to clear the calipers.

Just get bigger wheels so you don't need spacers

I was asking for advice on the setup in the pictures specifically.

If you have nothing constructive to post - don't post at all. I am not looking to pick fights with muppets like you. I am just after some genuine advice.

theyre the dc5r ones and wont be an issue as long as whichever wheels you use clear the caliper

will be fine

If you do make sure the spacers no more then say about 10mm cause your standard studs not long enough to cover your wheel, this means your wheel nuts have less treads to hold. And your wheel could fall off any time..

Well as long as I run any rim with an offset at or lower than +25 I don't need spacers.

Not sure if you need to change your rotor disc too, our aus dc5r disc is thinner then the jap dc5r rotors so we need sk2 rotor to match the the brembo calipers. not sure about the thickness of ep3

Hope your spacer causes your wheel to fall off on the highway

EP3TYPER:
What you will need if running with stock oem ep3 rims is:

1. jdm dc5r brembos (be sure it includes the 4 bolts, since they are slightly longer)
2. S2000 disks/rotors
3. 18mm spacers (15mm bolt-on hub centric extended stud spacers plus 3mm thin spacers) -> this clears brembos from oem rims by approx. 3mm
4. (Optional) : Camber bolts, if you want the oem rims to look flush with front guards. Tuck oem rims under the front guards (1 Degree camber adjust is sufficient). I have these camber bolts if you need them at $70 for the pair. :)

Use existing brake lines as per normal.

good luck.

I would suggest you upgrade to S/S braided brake lines while you're at it to get the most out of the brembos. Also, if you're running more than 10mm thick spacers, get those hub centric ones with those extended studs built into it; or just get some aftermarket wheel or jdm dc5 wheels, i think they have some high offset like 17x7 +60 if i remember correctly

edit: actually with those offset i think it might hit the rear trailing arm lol

agreed, that was what meant about the bolt on spacers (extended stud ones). :)

To confirm, take your wheels off than look at the inside. All the information is in there.
