Hi Guys,

I recently bought a 2007 VTI-L (8th Gen). The car is generally in very good condition and has done only 75,000km. I noticed that the door seal on the driver side has 5cm split in one spot, on the "sharp" edge of the seal. It looks/sounds like it it still sealing properly - no wind noise etc. A couple of questions:

- Is it normal for the seals to fail this early, or is it due to the door not being properly aligned?
- Has anyone here replaced the seal? How difficult is it and what is the best source for a new one? Dealers or?

Thanks

The seals could easily tear and rip from numerous environmental and weather related reasons.

For a 6 year old car it could be expected, but as far as my knowledge extends I couldn't say yes or no.

Also note there isn't a difference between the VTI, VTI-L or Sports seals, so don't be concerned with getting "VTI-L seals".

They're easy to replace, just call up your local dealership and go from there :-).

OK, thanks. Seems simple enough to replace.

There's two door seals. One on the actual door, and one that goes around the B-pillar and A-pillar (inner seal), is it your outer or inner seal that is damaged???
