I got the outer bit of the badge off by heating it up and just peeling it off but now the rest won't come off. I've tried wax and grease remover and this other stuff called goof off which is the same as goo gone. I've been thinking to try sanding it but I recon it'll scratch the paint. If I can't get it off I'm gonna buy another badge to cover it.25459

Use WD40 or eucalyptus oil

Agree with Eucalyptus Oil!

Try let it soak if you can... It's what I used to remove the pesky "CXi" which was stuck on the rear
(Only problem is that under the CXi is perfect Milano Red while the rest of the hatch has gone pink :( )

I've tried eucalyptus oil and I don't work. Ill try it again and soak it

Let it soak for 10-15 mins... Might take a few goes to get everything off!

If really stubborn then alternate with WD40 and the oil...

Just have patience because last thing you want is to possibly damage the paint

should I just use a cloth to wipe it??

razor blade will have it off with minimal damage to the paint if you take your time..

Try some abrasive polish if the above adhesive removers don't work.

Best choice would be to apply more heat with either a heat gun or a hair dryer and try rubbing it off, if you don't have access to either use a warm damp rag or towel and "hot compress" it.

Be careful of boiling water,it can leave permanent marks in paint as if you've ever seen a spilled coffee on a car you cant remove it without repaint..

the pic shown looks to have used some aftermarket glue, the oem isnt like that iirc

maybe carefully scraping it with a blade is the only option

just buy and use a prepsol,, easy to remove with that stuff..

Giuls1

I've tried a plastic razor blade and all it did was scratch the paint. might give prepsol a go

it wont if you use common sense

make sure the surface is soapy and wet as you scrape away the residue

http://blogs.cars.com/.a/6a00d83451b3c669e2017d430d400c970c-800wi

keep the blade very flat to surface and use a steady hand

what area are you? i could do it for you if not too far

If any of the above didnt work its more then likely that the glue thingo is stuck onto paint. When i took my civic badge off, it had same problem and when i cleaned it all out using prepsol,wd40 and heat i saw like a dotted outline of the 'civic' badge and when i looked at it closely, it was rust spots.

I bought another badge and painted it black, I'm putting it on tomorrow. There's defenetly something up with my badge I removed, my brothers badge came off easy and left nothing behind and all the videos of people removing them come off easy to

Have you tried using steam?

It can soften the glue to make it more plyable so it removes easier...

Failing that it could be that the glue used has reacted to the paint or something and may actually cause some damage removing it as it may have bonded too well with the paint.

i vote for very warm water (or careful heat gun use to soften then wax n grease remover, prepsol bug n tar remover or the like should sort it out, you may vave to pick at it with nails a bit or wrap a card in cloth as the scraper.

Dental floss.

I find this only works when the badge is still attached to the car in conjunction with a heat gun.

Could you take another photo in better quality?
After reviewing the original one it looked like some of the black paint had already come off...

Giuls1

Agree with Eucalyptus oil, or Tea Tree oil.

Alternatively if you want I can get you some adhesive remover swabs from work this week. We use them to remove wound dressings etc. Might work...

Prepsol and a razor blade my friend

I fail in reading.
But to take off residue, I've used a random orbital, medium pad and swirl remover with great success. Doesn't leave marks too.
