View Full Version : Just the front lip spoiler?

blkeuro
30-03-2005, 02:00 PM
Just got off the phone with Honda Parts, and they quoted me:

$927 for the Rear lip
$811 for the front lip
$1045 for sideskirts

These prices include paint but not installation.

So I was thinking, all I really want is the front lip - would this look weird?
Has anyone on this forum just got the lip? or seen any euros with just the front lip?

baboo
30-03-2005, 02:28 PM
thats expensive.

ring around, you can get the OEM kit down to about $2100 bar the rear trunk spoiler.

with just a front lip the car will look weird from the side.

blkeuro
30-03-2005, 02:38 PM
$2100? Thats alright... so are you talking about Honda dealers or independent places?
Any in particular? :)

baboo

Honda dealer mate.

Just at the parts department, if you haggle more, they might give you trade discount!!

baboo
30-03-2005, 03:00 PM
I remember I got quoted

$670 front
$670 rear
$760 sides

the kit comes painted anyway, so they shouldn't say include paint..LOL

Pum[Z]
30-03-2005, 03:13 PM
Yeah probably the dealers wanted to make it sound more sweeter by saying includes paint...

They probably think we are dumb asses... But in reality probably we know more about our cars then them...

oem body kit looks great but driving through some sydney car parks / crappy drive ways or the various speed humps does my head in

hmmm 2100....for another 700 or so bucks u can get the genuine Euro R bodykit. Front, rear and sides from IS Motorsports. Thats in sydney btw

Pum[Z]
30-03-2005, 03:37 PM
*Drools* The Euro R bodykit looks so much sexier then the oz factory bodykit for the euro's...

Try Getting a Mugen bodykit and lower ur fronts and u will find that ur car is more of a bulldozer... The factory bodykit is not that low low, the mugen one is definetly lower and is much longer as well...

Also having just a front spoiler won't look good moite... U need the at least the side skirts in there as well...

baboo
30-03-2005, 03:50 PM
Yeah? what I'd like is EURO R kit....one day, one day

zco
30-03-2005, 03:58 PM
i think it would look wierd with just front bar. maybe you can buy one piece at a time LOL

baboo
30-03-2005, 04:22 PM
Ah, maybe you can get away with just front & sides.

blkeuro
30-03-2005, 05:22 PM
ahhaha...thanks guys. Yeah I thought that just getting a front spoiler would be kinda weird..
Think I might just go the lot..if I can get it for $2100 that is..
I just got a quote of $1250 delivered from a perth based shop for the tal bodykit:

http://www.spoilershop.com.au/

but im not sure of the build quality. Looks pretty good from the photo though.

bigdongers
30-03-2005, 07:15 PM
The Talon kit is just a clone of the OEM kit. is $1250 painted? probably not right?

Does anyone have a link for the Euro R kit for sale in Oz? I know you can get it from the US but its easier from Oz.

I have seen a car with just the front lip and it looks stupid. I also saw one with just the sides and it also doesnt look that good. Finally I have seen one with the front and sides and no rear and it looked fine. Obviously, full kit is best though :D

Pum[Z]
30-03-2005, 07:18 PM
If its Spoiler shop then it won't be genuine honda parts & most probably its made out of fibre glass....

Its a talon kit.. Which means its $1250 then it won't be painted + u got to fit it...

For that kind of money u might as well get a Replica Full Mugen bodykit minus rear wing spoiler for $1200 from www.carquest.com.au (http://www.carquest.com.au/)
At least the front bumper is one whole piece and not an extention...

U still need to paint it and fit it as well.. In the end it all depends on how good ur panel beater is at preping the bodykit, painting it, and fitting it if u choose to get a fibre glass based bodykit...

stephen8512

i agree with Pum[Z]. Mugen replica bodykit for 1200 is much better....
if u dont believe me, just check out PUM[Z]'s car! hahahaha BLING BLING TO DA MAX BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY :D

A rough estimation will be around $1000 for real good quality work...

It could be cheaper or more expensive depends on where u get it done and the quality and workmanship of the ppl who do ur bodykit...

Thanks Stephen.. So u decided to get the Mugen bodykit or wat?? or u going to get the Euro R kit??

extra 800 as in $2900 for whole kit?

stephen8512
01-04-2005, 03:30 AM
extra 800 as in $2900 for whole kit?

no no...
i was quoted $1200 + $300 shipping fee to NSW from carquest in perth
plust another $1200 for painting and fitting.....so that there is $2700.
Add $800 to that, its $3500 for the original mugen bodykit that is already colour coded for the euro so painting wont be necessary. this price includes fitting

baboo
01-04-2005, 08:28 AM
Whao, $3500 is a good price, I was quoted nearly $4500 when they first came out.

I have the front lip + rear boot spoiler combination. It doesn't look too bad. But I can't deny it will look even better with the full body kits on... sigh.... not enough cash...... sigh....

If I were you blkeuro, I will get Mugen front and side and rear skirts. They are very similar to Honda ones, but they flare out more on sides, and front skirt has 2 air intakes holes just below the fog lights. I dont think Euro R's front lip will fit our front bumper as the fog light/air intake section is deffirent to Australian version bumper.

I bought a HyperRev book Vol.83 re.Accord from recent trip to Japan. it got lots of info re modification. However, I can't read Japanese, so I can only look at those nice photos.

Honda's genuine parts (skirts and spoiler) come painted anyway, as I mentioned before in other post, diffirent colour skirt has diffirent order number, so that means they are painted in Honda factory in Japan with the exactly the same colour paint as the one used on car. so colour match guaranteed.

Hi Mr 05Euro:
Just to add a few info to the previous post:
1. With the ones you get through Honda dealer, they are genuine Honda parts, and come already colour coded to your car. Come with 1 yr warranty if purchase after delivery of your car (I think)
2 Mugen, as you probably already know, is a Japanese company makes part and accesories exclusively for Honda cars. I am sure you can look up in their website http://www.mugen-power.com
3 Some local companies over here copy some big international companies's design and moulded the body kits out with fibre glass, and usually cost less.

LOC888 yeap. getting it from them. They seem reliable and they said that since its genuine honda/mugen part, it will already be colour coded with the current make of euros. was that the case for your Euro R kit? Probably gonna order either september of this year or jan/feb next year. we'll see how my finances go

Fr3aki3- it was IS motorsports sorry. not IM. my typo mistake :o

full front bar baby!!!

hehehe. but the grille/lip combo works a charm too. it all depends on ur tastes i suppose but personally, i think lighter cars (silver, white, milano red) would look awesome with the lip grille combo whereas the darker colours (black, graphite) would loook better in the full front bar conversion.
blue euros look hot whichever way u decide to go, whether its grille/lip or front bar.

The mugen kits got a wide opening hey, beasti. Today i saw a holden with a intercooler, im pretty sure its one of those airfilters that look like a intercooler.

However, im planning to get a mugen kit aswell. Would anyone ever put one of them fake 'intercoolers' on that kit??

I somehow still prefer not the full bumper, but the front lip only.
What's the difference between 1st and 2nd picture?

stephen8512

first pic (silver) is just the mugen lip addon to the orginial bumper than comes with euros and mugen grille change. (thats why it still has the foggies)

2nd pic (blue) is full mugen front bar replacement

The oem fog lights don't fit into the mugen front bar... So sorry to say u won't have no fog lights on the front bar.. U have HID's so whats the use of the foglights when u have HID's in normal driving...

PNR888
06-04-2005, 10:18 PM
I am sure to comply with ADR, Cars fitted with HID headlights must have headlight washers (I dont know why) and foglight/driving light with yellowish colour. As HID are not as easily visible in heavy foggy condition by other road users.

Theres no difference in the front bar from what i can see.
The only thing different is the size of the actual pic, like in one u see the whole car n the other the windscreen is chopped off
