what did they say was involved in a major service?
perhaps if your 5th gen is older now (not under new car warranty) just take the car elsewhere, to other mechanics, just make sure they use geniune honda parts and fluids.

yea im now looking around, but im just scared about putting the car into a dodgey place thats cheap... apparently 5th Gen Accord parts are more expensive?? because i was enquiring about a full service for my dads CR-V and it was qouted for $450 but the same service for the accord costing $1000 :(

my dad (ex honda service manager here in perth) said from memory they used to charge 400-500 bux for a major service which includes:

Oil and filter change
fuel filter change
tappets
brake fluid and brake mastery clyinder seals change
transmission fluid change
sparks
ABS fluid change
general check (ie brakes)

but thats over ehre and a few years ago now, but i doubt there would be a hge price diff like that from state to state and in a few years.

shop around.
