I have an opportunity to purchase an 09 Accord 4 Cylinder odometer showing 60K. I intend to pass to my newly licensed son but I am concerned that the service costs may be beyond him. Can any one provide the typical schedule and costs for the next 100K. I am guessing a timing belt will be in there some where soon.
Cheers Geoff

the K24 engines do not have a timing belt - it is chain driven. Therefore the 100k service is not too deep in the pockets.
What you need to look at is the existing log books and see if all the servicing was done since new and WHAT has been serviced.

Look at the service/log book and it will tell you what is required for the 100k service. im sure its just lubing the joints, changing oils/filters.

If the car is still under warranty then make sure the service is done at a approved honda warranty servicing (thats if you plan to stick with a good log book history). Otherwise if your a DIY - you can service the car yourself.

OR pm "CBAUTO" for the best quotes on all your honda needs.

P.S - you may wanna look at this too and set it to cut at 5000RPM- http://lh5.ggpht.com/_drWrR8Q5Jvw/S83otunhBXI/AAAAAAAAGLE/gMrCAU74b0U/2600911712_e8861f6583_o.jpg.
Keeps your son from overrevving once he researches the full potential of IVTEC Power..

In all seriousness, there's nothing 'huge' like a timing belt coming up. - that's done at 200k

It will only need an oil change and coolant at 100k.

If youre really pedantic, you can put in some new plugs.

Lol but in all seriousness, the K24's are a rock solid motor. Unless its lived a VERY hard life before you buy it, it will only require consumables. As mentioned above the K motors use timing chains which do not need to be changed at 100k.

Good luck and all the best.
