Hey guys, I picked up a 2004 Accord Euro Luxury a few days ago and am enjoying the car except for this high pitched noise that comes from there stereo as soon as the volume is above 0. It sounds very similar to an old CRT TV but does not go away. This happens whether I be listening to the radio or a CD, which is very annoying.

I've done a bit of research and found it is a common problem, but I don't know if anyone has successfully fixed it. Hopefully it is something simple like a poor earth. Could anyone confirm this or provide some advice on how to fix it?

You have interference on a ground cable somewhere.

Ie you have a new ground cable which should be placed
Elsewhere

I was thinking that would be the most likely outcome. I've seen a lot of people with the same car having the same problem, but nobody has really shared a success or failure story when it comes to fixing the grounding cable or anything.

do you have an aftermarket amp or headunit?

if you have an amp, you can get a grounding thing that you plug in to the back with RCAs, will fix the problem

nah standard stereo. Would I need to buy a 4ch amp to stop the high pitched noise coming out of all four speakers? Also can you plug an amp into the standard stereo? I haven't had a look at the back

If you don't have either it's a ground that's running too close to your speaker wires

Anything after market?

Nope nothing aftermarket on the car at all. I might pull there headunit out when I have a chance and I see what I can do.

I did some more research and found that this has been posted on ozhonda a few years ago.
