Sensor not fitted properly causing the car to go into limp mode? Doesn't explain the 'extra power' though?

if srs - are you trying to hit vtec when engine is cold?
from what others have said - check that the O2 sensor has been refitted and plugged in / oil levels etc etc
Are you getting a cell light/code?

i think its just the mid range feels
it wont feel as strong
plus check oil levels, this can effect it

Normally if VTEC is not engaging on a factory tune (car has original ECU, no Hondata etc) it will be an issue with the VTEC solenoid. With age it can build up electrical resistance and seize to function. Also if the oil is dirty/sludgy it can clog the oil screen in the solenoid.
Or maybe you just aren't noticing the crossover sound now with the loud exhaust. The crossover sound comes from the intake mostly, which is why it is more audible with a quiet exhaust.
Does the car continue to build power until close to the redline? Or does it drop off early?

Maybe an intake pipe extension would help

^ lol
Seriously though, if you're on temp and have oil pressure, and the solenoid is working fine etc, chances are you've increased your mid-range torque and don't feel the 'kick' so much because you have a smooth powerband and don't feel the 'kick' of power coming in gradually.
And that is a good thing!
