my guess would be around 110- 120kw atw

the top fuel posted 204hp but my guess that would be the engine

most of the bolt ons run around 7psi so usually you expect about a 50% increase in power and at 14psi you usually get a 100%increase in power (this is very generalised though)

any one has found any complete turbo kits for jazz?

zco

i've read somewhere that down on paper, 14.5 psi would give a 100% increase in powr. but realistically, its about 15.5-17.0psi boost.

NB: 14.5psi = 1.0bar

i am going to be making a kit for a jazz soon. If anyone is interested in having their car as a template car for this kit, id be happy to do it for free labour and simply the cost of parts is all u pay.

zzzz.... in WA NO one has L15 engine and produce 12xKW except he change the ECU.. or change the Engine...

Zimp13
04-04-2005, 01:17 PM
if change the ecu can produce as much kw as changing engine, wats the point of changing the engine then????

CHANGE ECU.. can increase KW lil bit not that much ... i think around 10-25% * correct me if i'm wrong. and if ur ECU change u can remap when the VTEC Kick IN also, I haven't try it. but some people in this forum already change the ECU. ask them

120 kw from a Jazz 1.5 all N/A is complte BS!

Running on 7 pounds of boost from a turbo you are only looking at around 105 at the treads.

I'm sorry, but the claims are rubbish. A worked K20A with cams, new intake, ecu, etc is putting out 140-odd at the wheels.

Think about it...

120hp at engine might be more possible

mugen header?... i thought that mugen header only fit for JAZZ/FIT JDM only. not for australian one. or may be he got NOS... equipped :P

Tony
05-04-2005, 12:23 PM
yeah.. 120hp at the flywheel sounds more like it..

120hp at engine might be more possible

muli
05-04-2005, 01:35 PM
that would be just shy off 90kw which i dont think would be too impossible with intake, exhaust and headers.

TypeG
05-04-2005, 02:41 PM
lol
i dunno man
obviously he is a liar with mugen header on as qurzery said his car is stock

Jus-10
05-04-2005, 03:32 PM
120hp at the fly would be more realistic....I'm putting out about that at the moment.

Mugen header will fit the Jazz though....

quizery
05-04-2005, 04:10 PM
he got 120kw from NOS may be :P.. coz i already check the MUGEN header. is not for australian. and if u can change it.. is like how much... and how heavy.. and the car is not under honda warranty anymore and insurance ... and YELLOW STICKER PROBLEM

TypeG
05-04-2005, 04:46 PM
man
Australian jazz can 100% fit mugen header
how much? $950
How heavy, similar to spoon one
mod any parts of yr car will void yr warranty anyway
yellow sticker..... hm.... depends how u drive it

by the way, nice photochop with B18 in
maybe i can use my ITR picture to shop it in my car as well =)

Hardly any jap parts are "for australia" - that doesn't mean they won't fit.

Some of us aren't concerned with warranty or at least keep the OEMparts so it can be changed back if there is a major problem.

You're not going to get a canary for changing the header. Don't run a cat and sure..you're facing a $10k fine, but that's a different story. Now try and look at the manifold on a Jazz engine and see how much of it you can see and whether an uninformed cop would be able to tell if it is original or aftermarket

hi guys, new here, does turbo go good for the jazz????

well, just that i am recommended not to fit turbo for it... cos it will just cause too much problems for it...

anyone of u guys done it??

Jus-10
11-04-2005, 11:16 AM
That's a bit of a generic response - "it will casue too much problems for it"

Why will it do that? It is just an engine...just like every other Lancer, Mirage, Corolla or whatever out there. All of which have been turbo'd.

There may be some complexities in the design given the lack of room in the engine bay, but if it is designed well it shouldn't cause any problems as such.

You need to remember that when you turbo any car, you are always going to have a few little issues here and there.

No one here has done it yet.

Zimp13
11-04-2005, 04:02 PM
personally i dont have enough confidence in jazz engine.... no matter wat people said, this engine is not designed for performance.... therefore i just feel that the stock engine is not strong enuf for turbo.... even if can be turboed, the engine wont last long i think.....

**Ghost**
11-04-2005, 04:10 PM
it is a honda engine... and the D16Y (non SOHC vtec) was never designed for performance either dont 4get...adn ppl boost that...

Jus-10
11-04-2005, 04:45 PM
Alot of Honda engines were meant to be turbo'd. In fact, almost all N/A engines weren't meant to be turbo'd.

Just because it's not a performance engine doesn't mean you can't turbo it. Hyundai's have successfully been turbocharged without major dramas....

Zimp I think you are slightly mis-informed on the whole turbo thing. Most modern engines should be capable of maintaining about 50% increase in power with little problem. Yes you are going to wear things out a bit quicker, but then that's often the case with factory turbo cars as well. You just have to be sensible about it all.

Zimp13
11-04-2005, 06:03 PM

if top fuel released a front mount turbo kit, i may get it a try since their turbi kit cost $5k which is fairly cheap coz a brand turbo. it is just quote from B engine turbo kit and I am not sure how much it may cost for the one in a jazz. =(
