zropts
13-09-2013, 12:02 PM
That power you getting don't seem right, I'm running bolt on and kpro doing 150kw atw from my last tune. Car needs a retune though

Chr1s
13-09-2013, 12:53 PM
Take it back to your tuner and explain to him the situation, if he doesn't want to help, can't fix it, or seems to not know what his talking about, go elsewhere.

This doesn't sound like a hard engine to tune, it should be making more than that but dyno figures can always be deceiving, the best indicator is the drag strip...

zropts
13-09-2013, 12:59 PM
Tuning is easy but tuning a kpro is the main point , it will be a waste if you can't find the right guy to do the job

Chr1s
13-09-2013, 01:10 PM
Kpro is easy too though.. surely the tuner noticed the variable cam maps?

zropts
13-09-2013, 01:13 PM
Not up in cairns, those tuners don't deal with Hondas much so they won't know much about hondata

Adrian @ SAS

Gosh... where to start...

Overrun cut is set incorrectly
Vtec unlikely to work correctly – atmospheric pressure is 100 kpa, your overrun cut activates under 200kpa ? Unsure of actual effect but it is wrong

Closed loop is turned off ? Why?

Injector size is listed as 280, your injectors are 310 & there is a 5% trim applied to the fuel. – Odd…

Gear ratios are wrong & gear comps & tip-in all zero ? Why ?

IACV is disabled? Why ?

Ignition water temp comp tables are zeroed? Why ?

Same with air temp comp tables ? Why ?

Knock sensor turned off ? Why ?

Incorrect base calibration used (PRA Euro CTR) this is why your tuner couldn’t get the O2 sensor to work & turned it off

No launch control

8100rpm rev limit ?

Ignition timing tables are odd to say the least
Fuel looks normal ish
Cam angle tables are also odd

So, I'd say go back & talk to your tuner about this & see what he can do.

firefistkyo
13-09-2013, 10:50 PM
wow lol I wont know wat to say to the tuner that alot of problem

Lots of good info

Chr1s
14-09-2013, 07:59 PM
I don't think this needs to be stickied, it's abit of common sense really!

Who is around in QLD for the QLD guys? Surely there is someone up Cairns way!

stndrd
14-09-2013, 08:06 PM
I understand it is common sense to people like us, but to the end user who doesnt know alot, it can make all the difference

Chr1s
14-09-2013, 08:56 PM
Fair enough, but how hard is it to call your tuner? He/she can advise via email or the phone easily. I struggle to understand why the end user will want to change compensations that the tuner didn't pickup on, if they want to adjust fuel overrun cutoff's, that's not too bad, but the tuner should still be advised for their advice, it's easy to input mental values in these parameters tabs which may actually have a detrimental effect - then the "generic" sticky that was followed on OzHonda is to blame..

Anyway, there is plenty of "how to's" out there but at the end of the day, a good tune means the end user won't need to worry about this. For anyone in doubt - read your help file, it spoon feeds you! Literally :)

Get your cams timing check?

Adrian @ SAS
30-09-2013, 06:49 AM
If cam timing was an issue, he would have a CEL (P0341 error camshaft range/performance)
This error has not been disabled - we know this through download link.

It is possible the cat has become blocked, but unlikely
The other parts are known to work...
That leaves little to the imagination as to what the issue is...

Nah it's all good, i got adrian to e-tune it for the time being, runs heaps better now. no ping and heaps more midrange

What tps you use? ktuned are doing a billet one that comes with a 1 year warranty. plus it looks nice as lol

whats e-tune? Lol

Yeah had to be light on throttle low revs or it'd just knock, had to baby the car until 4.5k rpm lol
e-tune, just datalog then email datalog then he adjust then resend me new calibration then i upload ect ect, keep doing this until we get it right lol.

e-tuning can take weeks or months (depending on how bad the tune is to begin with). Best bet would be to PM Adrian@SAS to find out how much he charges

mocchi
28-10-2013, 07:31 PM
Oh tru is it a long process or is it pretty quick? How much does he charge?

depends how often you supply him the datalogs
usually he replies pretty quick, so you can get it done in few days or 1-2weeks

need to do it consistently as possible (same stretch of roads, temperature, weather conditions etc)

in my experience, it took abt 10 revisions to get a decent etune
