Hey guys,

Im looking at buying an 07 accord euro that has 128xxx kms on the clock. After taking a look at the dipstick, I noticed the oil was below the minimum level.

I know the car is due for the next service, but the oil consumption seems a bit high to me.

Does anyone have to same issue or is this fairly normal?

note: The car is in very good condition and serviced every 10k

Was the euro a cl9 (03-07)
or a cu2 (07+)

The later model euros had a problem with the oil control rings in the pistons from the way the K24 was built
There are a few threads on ozhonda of issues with oil consumption

If it makes you feel any better, VW considers 1 litre of oil consumption per 1000kms 'within spec' for a golf GTI.

The oil consumption could be due to a combination of driving style, start/stop traffic, average driving distance, type of oil used, etc. 1L of oil consumed per 10,000kms is nothing too concerning imo.

If you've gone from dino oil
To synth oil
It can and cause leaks - because all that gunk in your engine holding the gaskets together has been cleaned out by the synthetic oil due to its cleaning properties

Hi friends
Recently i have also faced the same problem with my car , mostly oil consumption is depends on the quality (http://www.accountants-goldcoast.com.au/tax-planning/) of oil and the condition of the engine.Try a new oil brand it will help you .
