If I add a rear swaybar on an ek1, does the front stock swaybar need to be upgraded to balance it?

I heard there is improvements in handling, and less body roll but is the upgrade very noticeable or is it a small improvement only (if only rear swaybar is added)? The car is used for daily driving btw and no track.

ive got a stock fsb(22mm i think) and an em1 15mm rsb and it was a noticable improvement when i added the rsb. im upgrading to 25mm front 24mm rear tho

Good to know that 15mm rsb made a difference, as I plan to put an ek4 rsb which is 14mm.

How much of a % difference do you reckon it made? In terms of body roll, and handling.

Yes and No... depends on your driving style and how you want the car to perform.
Try reading the below link for more info on sway bars...

Personally I only run a 22mm rear sway on my EK CXI[R] with no front sway bar... But thats how I roll and thats what I feel comfortable punting around with at the moment. Each to their own and find what suits your driving style most.

The big plus about sway bars is the difference they make is very noticeable for the relatively little cost they are! Also if you find you don't want to run them there will almost always be someone keen to take it off your hands.

Thanks for the info!

When installing the sway bar is it best to:
1. Hand tighten sway bar on jack stands then,
2. Lower to ground level and tighten

I've seen many different tutorials consisting of installing the sway bar with car on jacks, or on the ground but i think the above step is best? Keep in mind this is only the sway bar and there is no subframe.

Edit:
What lube is needed for the d-bracket area?

any swaybar over 19mm probably wont fit on the stock subframe anyway. the holes for the d brackets are to close. i installed my ek9 rear swaybar a couple of days ago with the car on the ground, it would have been much easier if it was jacked up.
