Hey guys, I don't really know much about cars so I thought I should ask here to see if anyone knows. I have just recently got my licence and my parents bought me an old car for getting my license, a 1994 Honda Integra VTiR.

The thing is when they bought it, I didn't realise that it was turbocharged and I never suspected it either since I don't really hear of anyone with a turbocharged Honda. Since I am on my provisional licence, I am not allowed to drive turbocharged cars without an exemption. As well as that, I do not want to pay the extra insurance fees due to being modified with a turbocharger. However, I really like the car due to other reasons.

So my question is, how much would it cost to remove the turbo from an originally non-turbo car, or should I just consider selling it.

Any help or input is appreciated,
Thank you!

I dont know the costs. But if its stock internals, this is what you have to do.

You will need stock vtir ecu, stock intake and exhaust manifolds.

I dont know if this is entirely correct, but this would be the basic method.

Take off Exhaust manifold/turbo/dump pipe
Take off intercooler piping, intercooler and intake manifold (if not standard)
Put on standard exhaust manifold
Put on standard intake manifold
Replace current ecu with a standard DC2 ECU.

I think you'll be in the green. people are prepared to pay a few dolans for a system if it's 'complete' like yours will be

What state are you in?

I know someone who can help you swap it back to stock in return for the turbo setup

You'll need a new sump too as they've probably drilled a fitting into it for the oil line too turbo.

srsly. u should sell the car as it is, u can get good money for it, than buy a cheaper NA vtir dc2.

that way u will have cash and NA dc2, instead of de-turbo ur car after paying someone

or just get another car, and keep the DC2turbo for when you get a real license?
