This is just feedback for you regarding the Honda CRV that I took delivery of just over a week ago.

I have now adjusted my driving to the automatic transmission, and I am quite happy with the car’s performance but having only covered 250km there is a long way to go.
There are still many things about the car that this ‘old dog’ has yet to learn as it is such a change from our previous CRV.

The most frustrating thing is the fact that the Bluetooth voice tag system is not working as it should and you must be aware of my problem.

Quite simply the ‘Voice Tag’ system is not working because when I am asked if I want a voice tag, and I say yes, the system then says “press the talk button and wait for the beep” well there is no talk button.

Now what is happening is that I am extremely frustrated about is that I can’t get any satisfaction from the main Honda website, as they simply say refer to the dealer service and I have tried that and got nowhere.

It does appear that having now purchased the car I have been ‘cut loose’ to just get more and more annoyed because maybe Honda know there is a problem and it will not go away.

In desperation I turned to Google and there is a guy in America named Jason Honda Pro who has been more helpful than Honda Australia, and he even prepared a personal video for me showing me how to edit speed dials. However he could not advise me about the talk button except to say that the American version does have such a button fitted to the steering wheel.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for an answer from Honda Australia and my next move will be to ask a motoring correspondent for advice.

Please let me know where I go from here if you have any good advice.

If there is no voice activation available I want to be informed that is the case, but I want to know why too.

I'm not sure what the voice tag system is but my CRV reads out my SMS messages and I can respond by voice.
My CRV is a 2013 VTiL and it's paired with a Nokia 710.

But can you initiate a blue tooth telephone call by speaking a name in your own voice i.e. to call home nothing happens when I say "home" etc. whereas in my friends cheaper Mitsubishi he can call anyone in his phone book just by saying their name. And that is how it should be in Australia with the Honda CRV.

i hold down the talk button on my phone and i can use the voice function through the bluetooth of the car.

Even touching a mobile phone whilst driving is going to get you a fine if caught and it is very dangerous.
We are talking at cross purposes here because the CRV in America has a talk button on the steering wheel that enables one to set up the voice actuated dialing system with absolutely no need to touch your phone. And that is my complaint.
