Kinugawa turbo's are basically Mitsubishi turbos...
So you can get a new actuator locally to suit.

You can change the springs in the turbosmart unit also to suit yourself

ahh good to know, but im more interested in particular the actuators as a replacement.... as i need a 5psi and most oem actuators are around 8 - 10 psi

pricing for kinugawa is $100 vs forge $200!

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a electronic boost controller or if you're using hondata engine management I'm relatively sure there's a boost control feature?

Running a greddy EBC already, the issue im having is the turbo wastegate isnt holding boost, with/without an EBC, an my tuner already said its the wastegate thats at fault.. so in need of an upgrade... and these 2 are the only replacements as they can give me the correct spring psi as its a internal gated turbs

cheers

What turbo is on there at the moment?

Could probably save yourself a bit of money finding another damaged or used one and pulling off the wastegate as opposed to buying a new gate.

TD04L off wrx... Yehhh i thought of reusing a oem wastegate, but than id rather just experiment with aftermarket as it makes tuning to peak boost better as opposed to the higher rated stock oem wastegate

Why not just get a simple replacement of a low psi rating, then let the boost controller do its job-

Kinugawa isn't bad a few friends of mine are running them on rb25's and rb25/30det's...

They seem to be relatively reliable. Hope this helps!

Hit me up with more questions and I can look into them further :)

I replaced the OEM piece of junk on my APS SR40/GT28 Turbo with a Garrett Actuator 445963-8 12204 40206

Works a treat but seemed pointless after E-boost 2 was installed lol

A mates using the 17psi one for his Evo, is causing the wastegate to creep on 3rd and 4th gear pulls causing laggy boost. But if its only baby boost like 5psi it should be fine.. Whats your max boost setting?

just quick update, ended up going back to a oem 5 psi one, only because there really wasnt much feed back on these aftermarket ones, an apparently, the more expensive ones Forge racing wastegates are just not worth it.

cheers guys
