I have a friend interested in getting an accord Euro.
I am also aware that some of the Euros have a terrible oil consumption problem, which years are known to have this issue, so i can steer clear of them is it 08 and up?
and any other obvious things to look for in a Automatic Euro?

I am fairly sure Richard said the later CU2 has more to elm than the CL9.
Or some other guys I can't remember.

Other than log books
MAKE SURE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER, YES IT HAS A FILTER have been changed
As the manual doesn't recommend changing the ATF until 120,000kms - by that time the transmission is on its way out

Can you link us to the filter? Very curious, when would you recommend changing it?

not many ppl would know to have the fluid changed or let alone the filter unless they are told to , so its unlikely that they will be changed i think. so will have to aim for one thats under 120k and tell them to change it straight away unles can find one thats already been done within 120k kms.

Mazda 3 is more comparable to Civic, perhaps a Mazda 6 or Kizashi could be an option?
By the way, what mileage would you be looking at changing the filter/dropping tranny oil.
My CU2 is on 47xxx kms atm so not too worried but planning to keep it so would want to keep it tidy.

same time as engine oil. says mr spoon.
every 50k kms would be a minimum, 20k is great.
apparantly its the CU2 has the bad piston rings that sucks in the oil.
