Team Tilton Interiors Mitsubishi Evo is rewarded with victory. Look out Tsukuba record.

The Tilton Interiors Mitsubishi Evo driven by Garth Walden staged an epic fight back to win the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge of 2013 with a lap time of 1:24.855. A faster time than the one set by Nemo at the World Time Attack Challenge 2012. A lap time many thought couldn't be beaten by a car other than Nemo.

Nemo has a serious time attack aero package designed by guru Andrew Brilliant. The car was also purpose built to take advantage of the rather loose rules of WTAC 2012. As a result Nemo decimated the competition in 2012 with a blisteringly quick fastest lap of 1:25.020. A time that was over two seconds faster than the Tilton Interiors Mitsubishi Evo which took second place. The Tilton evo could have been quicker if it hadn't smashed a diff which was preventing drive to the rear wheels for most of the event.

Two seconds is a lifetime in time attack racing. Consider that the MCA Suspension Nissan S13 and the Scorch Racing Nissan S15 improved their 2012 lap times by just four tenths of a second in 2013.

There was another reason why people thought the Tilton Interiors Mitsubishi Evo could never beat Nemo's record breaking lap time…
