had to get an alignment and gave in to beaurepair cheap prices (for the time being as im getting rigid colors and rear toe arms/bump steer kit).
and they set me up with total toe = +2mm.

went back and showed them the above specs said thats what is recomended for the year (i told them 6mm toe in) and they fixed up the rear by giving me
Total Toe = +5mm
from my understanding Total Toe is a measurement of toe in.

"Measuring rear toe using Geometric Centerline
Toe-Out (Negative Toe) is a condition where the front of the wheel is farther from the geometric centerline than the rear of the same wheel. Toe-In (Positive Toe) is a condition where the front of the wheel is closer to the geometric centerline than the rear of the same wheel.
Measuring rear toe using Total Toe
Toe-Out (Negative Toe) is a condition where the distance between the front of both wheels on a common axle are farther apart than the rear of the same wheels. Toe-In (Positive Toe) is a condition where the distance of the front of both wheels on a common axle are closer together than the rear of the same wheels.

Toe can be expressed in degrees, fractions or decimal inches. Do Not confuse degrees with inches when selecting your method of adjustment. Rear toe adjustment is the most critical factor regarding tire wear, mileage, and handling."

Now when i turn i can hear more noise from the rear. is this normal for an ap1?

did i go wrong somewhere or is there info concerning ap1 uk specs that suggest they are incorrect?

What kind of noise?

Most places run a little toe-in to help keep the car running straight, but yeah generally toe is the worst for premature tyre wear.

I don't know what the rules are for RWD but my Civic is running +2.4mm toe, IE 1.2mm each side (rear axle, front a tiny bit more like +3mm).

It sounds to me like they gave you mild toe to reduce tyre wear, and you requested extra toe in which will give you more premature tyre wear, so the sound is possibly your tyres not running very straight but pointing inwards a little too much.

yeh im thinking, for everyday driving, 6mm is too much or rather 5mm is still too much.

might take it down to 3 on the next allignment which should be when i get spood rigid collars. in a week or so time.

thanks for that first link though it confirmed me that i wasnt too far off the mark.
