OK. I am requesting everyone's assistance in creating a Master DIY Reference Guide to Brake Boosters and Brake Master Cylinders.

My research so far reveals -

There are at least four Brake Master Cylinder sizes as follows:

13/16"
7/8"
15/16"
1"

There are at least six models of Brake Booster as follows:

NM205V
NM230V
NM240V
NM260V
NM280V
NM290V

Each of the above has variations. For example:

NM205V-1 & NM205V-3

Some have GREEN labels and some have RED labels. There are also YELLOW labels. These are located on top of the Brake Booster, usually manufactured by NISSIN but there may be variations on that too!

Brake Master Cylinders are also manufactured by NISSIN. The size of the BMC is on the shaft usually underneath the Fluid Cylinder. There are, however, some generic units that don't have the size.

I will compile a chart to be made available to everyone here when I have finished collecting responses.

What I'm compiling is a Reference Guide.

Booster Model
Colour of Label
Manufacturer of Booster
Brake Master Cylinder Size
Manufacturer of BMC
Honda Model
Year of Manufacture
Other Info/Notes

The object of this guide is to assist in brake upgrades so at a later date I'll be adding Brake Caliper information (sizes, pads, etc)

If you would like to contribute, next time you go out to your Honda make a note of the above information and post it here. I'll add it to the Guide. If you can take a clear photo of the Brake Booster label and/or Brake Master Cylinder that would be appreciated (but not essential).

Thanks,

Peter

Here's what we will end up with

Booster - NM205V-1
Red label
Master Cylinder - 13/16th
Manufacturer - NISSIN
Honda - CRX and Civic 19876, 1988-90

Perhaps also note whether its ABS or Non-ABS

and what size the rear flare nut fitting is as a lot of people seem to have trouble with this

It goes without saying I'm not interested (for the purposes of this research) in modified setups. I'm interested in OEM only setups.

Please use this - cut & paste -

Booster Model

Colour of Label

Manufacturer of Booster

Brake Master Cylinder Size

Manufacturer of BMC

Honda Model

Year of Manufacture

ABS? - Yes or No

Other Info/Notes - size of flare nut here please (if possible), and whether there is one opening or two, and whether the opening/s are both on same side or opposing sides

Thanks

Peter

That's how it's done!

Good work Dorikin. Much appreciated. Now everyone else - c'mon get busy. We all stand to benefit from this research.
