Had my ED Civic for around 4 months, now its hot enough that I have to run aircon for my son I've noticed a problem.

While driving, my revs are fine and the car runs beautifully. But when stopped at the lights I have to turn my aircon off because the cars revs will drop to 100, almost stalling it. It's driving me nuts cause then my son complains *sigh*

I've asked a few mechanics and they've said "you'll have to bring it in and pay for an inspection and we will fix it", but all I need is some ideas on what it could be.

It's got a brand new battery and the alternator has just been rebuilt, I've tried google but nothing.. Helpppp please :)

its a carby yeah?
i think some thing in the carby/mechanism needs to kick in to raise your rpms to compensate for extra load (air con) on the motor to prevent stalling

im not to familiar with them sorry

There is a solenoid that is near the brake master cylinder, its on the right of it and has 2 wires going to it and 1 vacuum hose. Try replacing that first as its part of the A/C system to bring the revs up.
