think my pr3 ecu may be stuffed? b16a Car will start for about 3 seconds then stops
the code on the ecu is 6 engine temp sensor.I am unable to reset this code? even if I disconnect all the plug off the ecu when refitted still has code 6 and even if I unplug other sensors they do not show up as codes on the ecu?

If you suspect the ECU is at fault I can test it for you and or possibly repair it.


most of the times its a wiring issue.

thanks this info fixed the temp codes I had the wrong plug on the sensor

now if i may ask? may IAC is not correct? one wire goes to A9 where does the other wire go?and is it earthed to work or gets a voltage from ?

if your ECU is OBDO then your EACV is not A9 it will be A11

the EACV/IAC is powered by 12v and the ECU provides a negative PWM signal. The Yel/Blk is the source, same as the injectors

I found the codes and Sticky so should be able to follow that,

This hole thing is a new bespoke loom made in USA as I have the b16a in a mini, it seems ok but the IAC is not connected? not sure why?
This is a road car not a race car. and I am having trouble to get it started? strange thing is it starts if I pull off the MAP sensor plug?
but does not run very well, can and how do u run without the IAC,? I am thinking its best to connect the IAC,
Any help is very welcome its doin my head in,

I have seen IACV removed from the B16A when installed into a Mini as there is not enough room on the back of the manifold and it hits the firwall. I am not sure if this is your case.

If you have room put it back and wire it in

I have the IAC fitted this car has been running with my cutdown loom
it was just me wanting it to look better made me buy this new loom
it goes straight from computer to engine
just missing the IAC? TROUBLE IS IT HAS A WIRE IN A9 where the IAC should go?

Then you should trace that wire and fine out where it goes. Also ensure you are counting the ECU pins correctly

Spot on!, had problems with my pr3 / B16. and it turned out a wire was damaged.
