Run factory headunit with aftermarket?

Hey Guys,

I have a Honda Accord Euro and was wondering if you could run the factory headunit through the aftermarket? For Example: I want to be able to use the factory in-dash stacker/tunner but running it through the auxiliary of a aftermarket unit. Any ideas on what to do and what products i need? Thanks :)

Can and could be done, but can I ask why?

I know a guy up here (Brissy) that has played with factory decks for BA falcon, Vy commo and the new mazda with interesting results (converting them or fitting rca's etc), myself am toying with the idea of converting the factory deck so it only becomes read only and run and external DAC, hmmm.

I know its a strange thing to do, but just want to make use out of it rather than it doing nothing. Would be cool to see something like that done just for extra expandability.
