who has done advanced timing on their EK?

please tell me ur experiences...as i heard it's worthwhile..

i did it to my car... now i'm always 5 mins early instead of 5 mins late.

i advanced mine by 2 degrees and it didnt do jack all...

i BELIEVE what it does it makes ur distributer fires ur spark plugs at a more rapid pace...hence mroe combustion... but u cant do too much advancing cos if ur fuel and air cant keep up u end up with detonation... THATS MY THEORY ONLY

i heard from someone, u can do it urself?

but normallty stock spark plug is 4, u gotta change to 6...and reset ECU..
should be faster..

errrrrrrrrrr u tweak ur distributor... i dont know what u do with it... i saw my mechanic do it for me and he was using some sort of meter to do it... plugs remained the same... unfortunuately so did power... maybe on a highly accurate dyno u'd get 0.05KW atw... but dont trust ppl who say "YEH I FELT THE DIFFERENCE STRAIGHTTTTTTT AWAY""... pure wank

FFS if you don't know what you are talking about then don't reply.

Advancing your timing reffers to changing when the spark fires. Usually it is OK to advance around 2 degrees if you run premium fuel. I advanced the timing by about 2 degrees, ran premium 98octane and got better milage.
