Just curious - have any of you actually had the transmission fail? I know there's been a recall in the US in the past and the thread on maintenance here but I'm just curious as to how common it is among these parts.

as I said in my old thread, the problem's really more on the V6 models, not may of them on the road here compared to the US where the V6 is the default choice.

One thing that does crop up among owners' reports on occasions is the automatic transmission, which is regarded to have questionable durability. It's a good policy to have automatic transmissions serviced regularly and it seems that it's even more important when it's a Honda.

it's been known for years.

It's been known but I'm just curious to how many it affects in Australia here. I just find it surprising how many reports there are of transmission failures of a certain brand, you can probably guess which and less of Honda ones on ozhonda here even though they should be more widespread according to the recalls?
