I emailed my Honda Dealership inquiring about a Workshop Manual for 2013 CR-V VTi 4WD,

Could you please advise me if there is a Workshop Manual (Paper or DVD) available for purchase to suit a Thailand built 2013 CR-V VTi AWD and the cost?

If there are no manuals available can you please find out if and when Honda will be releasing the manual for purchase.

The Dealership responded with

Thanks for your enquiry.

At this point in time I can’t supply workshop manuals as these are not part of the Parts Department product of Honda Dealers.

I also believe that dealers have no eta as to if and when Honda will be releasing any workshop manual releases at this stage.

So I thought Ok go to the heart of the issue, so I contacted Honda Australia via their website with a similar styled question as the one sent to the Dealership, Honda Australia's Customer Service reply was

Thank you for your enquiry on the Honda website.

The Service Manager within your local Honda Dealership is a specialist with technical information on your Honda vehicle.

Please contact your Service Department direct for assistance with your enquiry.

Obviously they don't want owners tinkering - upgrading or protecting parts of their vehicles.

i think i can up you on that.

a honda dealer not far from the casino in perth, once told (more like argued) that a KA9 came in both coupe and sedan variants.

when asked if both had the same 3.5L engine, he responded with a confident "yep". needless to say, i thanked him for his "excellent" knowledge and left things at that.

I've never seen any dealership sell a workshop manual.
Usually Haynes or other companies make them not Honda themselves.

+1. all the workshop manuals I've ever had were download with no manufacturer wanting to sell them to me.

this applies to both auto makers and electronics.

I don't quite think you're understanding - that's their trade secret there

plenty of others willing to fill in the void.

haynes is one of them, but only selected cars. plenty of workshop manuals in the US, even third party publishers.

You can buy a CD as far back 2003 for the Subaru Forester from a Dealership, that I do know from a mate who physically bought one.

thats cool. didn't know subaru sold service manuals. if only more manufacturers will sell the workshop manual; but it will never happen. because not many dealerships will be happy.
