ek slow after 140km

I am having a problem with my civic, I did a mini me d14 with y8 head lately, running p28 with neptune.
new clutch, new timing... Full rebuild
the car run great (rev great and smooth) until it reach 140km after that, speed hardly move. what do u think could be the problem?

What I think is there is either a software limit or physical limitation such as blocked cat etc

im inclined to believe its a physical limitation i.e restrictive intake or blocked or damaged exhaust.

yeah, D14, believe or not, this engine pull much better than d16y8 and rev more. even it has smaller displacement. I think that catalytic converter is clogged, i feel hot air under the car after a short drive. I will check catalyic converter .

as said in second post, d14 is the problem, maybe a jdm d15b is what you need, gives k series a good run for there money

there is no d14 in Australia, you've never sever seen 1, so u can not say it's bad or good. d14 is not the problem. Also this is not my first d series engine, i know how they drive.

I am a diy person. The car run much better now, it was the camgear advanced by 4 degrees, now the car pull to over 220km. Btw this engine has higher compression than d16y8 and car weight 950kg

The bigger question is will op find a road long enough for the 1.4tltr to hit 200+KM

I will stop giving d series shit if he hits even 180km in a descent amount of time, say 15-20 seconds?
(I know he wont, the L series which is basically the successor of the D series cant do this even with close ratio 7 speed)

my dc2 k20 takes about 15 seconds 0-200, doubt he'll be anywhere near that. i reckon a 1 minute vid will be needed. either way, if it does 220 i will be impressed.

What did you do with the D14 build?

currently, engine has around 10.60 compression, running a small turbocharger pushing just 4 psi(only 4 psi like it or not, running no inter cooler). I do not care about this engine much, have d16 block( waiting for rebuild.
