Is it necessary to cut the rubber bump stop of an ek hatch when installing tein s-techs?

Yes, very easy. hold the bump stop on its side and use a box cutter or small fine toothed saw. It will cut easily.

and no I wouldnt bother if only S-tech,theyre not that low

I replied without reading the entire post sorry "Honda". These are lowering (according to the internet) 1.9 inch front and 1.7inch rear on your EK.

Id knock off the bottom of the standard bump stops or get aftermarket shorter ones.

I'm assuming the cut will be the next line down from the green line? Is that correct?

Out of curiosity, what is the disadvantages of not cutting the bump stop?

Yeah that's fine

The disadvantage of not cutting your bump stop is - with the lowered height comes a shorter shock travel - and if the bump stop remains standard it will bounce onto the shock top bottoming out prematurely. Giving you a more bouncy ride / inconsistent travel than expected
