Hey Honda ppl.

My AP1 with AP2 lights, has AP1 Ballasts, the drivers side light is not working, making for rubbish night visibility.

the light will flick on to warm up and flicker then turn off, all within about 1 second.
Im presuming the Ballast has gone?

Do i buy another AP1 ballast second hand, not knowing when it might die.
or buy a new one, and where would i even do that.
Or do i get a reputable aftermarket kit and if i did what type should i get, one for D2S bulbs?

i know its 35W.

any help much appreciate!

I'd go AP1 from a parted car in the US. You'll probably pay more in freight than for the part but it will still be cheaper than the alternatives.

and we have gone off topic. well its $309-USD from that site curtis which isnt too bad.
Local dealers (honda north, and burswood) want $829.35-AUD, that sounds just a lil much to me.

Guess its a no brainer then really, order it from hondapartsdirect, get it delivered by USPS, tracked from departure to destination. :-s

Max you'll be paying is $80 for shipping.

yehp 45 shipping, still debating, as i could most likely just use a D2S Hid kit, and set that up, just use a reputable ballast. and re-seal, since i have ap1 ballast and ap2 headlights the seal is pretty average anyway just blank the hole with a rubber boot sort of thing.

that way i can fix both before the next one gives in, which could be tomorrow, or another 13yrs from now...

what do you guys say?

CFL Honda don't exist anymore. They've merged with some other company I think

If anyone knows any reputable places to get parts that will ship to Australia cheaply, I would be keen to know

in regards to the ballasts i am getting some DENSO Ballasts that fit D2S from The Retro-fit Source at 180 +60 shipping it gives me 2, that are easy to source in the future if i ever should need more.

DENSO is also an OEM quality brand, since they provide the Toyota ones and many more.
