Hey guys, would it be fine to run dc2r calipers with a da9 booster and master cylinder?

Or is it a must to upgrade to a dc2r booster and cylinder?

Thanks

It will be ok but won't make the most of the brakes. There is a little bit of sponginess to the pedal with the smaller MC whereas the 1" is a solid, confident feel. Not really expensive and definitely worth it. The swap is a bit if a pain to get the old booster etc out and especially to get the new one back in as it's pretty cramped but it is a bolt in swap with a little bit of bending on the brake lines

thanks for the response, does it matter if its an abs or non abs 1" brake booster and master cylinder?

Nope but it is easier. The non ABS has the same size ports as the DA otherwise you have to reflare the rear port line with a bigger fitting. Still very simple.

The brake setup is going into a ed6 so the ports will still be the same size as ek9 non asb booster and cylinder right?

But the ports would be flared for a dc2r abs booster and cylinder?

this is the very setup im rolling on my ED9.
i found it really good
great at stopping the k20.

282mm rotors
stock MC i couldnt have it upgraded as it was already way to close to the block being RHD.
even the DC2R calipers were upgraded also

which car rotors are you using and what is your rear brake setup?

Mooshie is dead on!

the ABS DC2 Integra has a 1inch BB+BMC set up (brake booster+brake master cylinder) where one fitting is different to the ones you would find on all the other non-abs versions.
this means when u get the set up you either get a adaptor (which can be ordered by ABS- australian brake services, or ENZED). or try and get the orginal fitting thats on the car its being pulled from, then have 1 new line, for the BMC to the Prop Valve, made up using that new fitting and a regular fitting

would there need to be adapters if i use a non abs ek9 booster and cylinder?

Unfortunately I can't answer your question re EK9 bmc/mc but if this is what you have on offer then just take it. Getting a line made up with the larger fitting is very simple and I would suspect cost less than $50.

Just guessing but it would seem logical that non ABS fittings would be the same across the different chassis

If you can get access to the MC then measure the diameter on the ports. The front is always going to be the same size as all other brake line ports on the prop valve etc. The rear is the one that can be different and it's larger.

i dont know either, the only one i know of that uses that weird size fitting is the ABS DC2 which is a 1inch BB-BMC

also they all take the same size 10mm tube spanner, so thats not an accurate way of determining if it will fit directly, you need to compare the thread, from memory though if the one closest to the firewall is bigger its pretty obvious.

on ym eg when i did the conversion i got a wrecked DC2 VTiR with ABS, chopped the DC2 lines off while still attached to the BMC so i had an MC with both fittings still in and a small amount of tube hanging out..
i measured the length of my stock line that went from the prop valve to the hole closest to the firewall and added a bit more, then took the MC with fittings to a brake guy, who made me a new copper tube at the length i needed using the 2 fitting on the MC (as the smaller sized one would fit the prop valve), i then plasti dipped the tube so you couldnt see it being copper, and fitted it, copper is easy to bend by hand.
cost me about 30$
