Cr-v exhaust

Hi, Just wondering if I remove the catalytic convertor from exhaust (RD-1 CR-V) and run straight through pipe, would it bring the engine warning light on? I realise the legalities behind such a thing, but the vehicle is not to be registered.

Removing the cat will not throw a CEL but only do this if the car is a dedicated race car
