My DC5 recently got the check engine light. So i called around and most shops wanted $80 bucks just to read the error. The fk right. $80 just for a diagnostics check that wont even take 10 minutes. So I did some research on the good ol reliable ozhonda forums and found someone mentioning about ELM327. Ordered that from ebay for 20 bucks and paid for a program on my phone to read my ecu. total cost of scan $25!

So the codes turns out to be

P1166 - Powertrain Manufacture Controlled DTC AF ratio sensor - front - heater circuit problem.

P1167 - Air sensor - heater system malfunction.

When its cold, the light takes at least 10-15 minutes to come up.

Current 'Power' Mods:
PLM Headers
RM10A Exhaust.
Test pipe.
Injen CAI
Light fly + pulleys
etc etc etc dont think other mods would effect A/F ratio.

I did clean IVAC + throttle body, replaced serpentine belts and pulls, spark plugs, oil + filter, head cleaner, engine flush, fuel filter replaced, Replaced Injen filter + hydro shield. The car runs fine. Hits vtec hard, pulls hard, doesn't make funny sounds, and fuel is great. getting 550KM + per tank. I have also 'cleaned' my O2 sensors.

I cant get rid of the check engine light. Please help. Do I need to invest a Cat + new sensors? Or is there something I'm still missing, cos them o2 sensors aren't exactly cheap, cheapest I've seen is $330.

Also not forgetting to mention, damn that elm has a lot of functions. Had fun playing with it today and seems to be pretty actuate, speed, revs, coolant temps, vacuum line pressure, throttle position, boost, g force experienced, emissions etc etc. Will test on the Jazz this weekend, dunno if port will work.

I think also worthy to mention, when looking at the fuel trim charts. Its running Rich upon deceleration (engine braking)
