Hi Guys

My alternator has packed it in and I'll get a non-gen replacement for it (thanks for the non-gen supply tips from the OzHonda forum - sorry but you can shove your genuine $1,400 OEM, Honda San!).

I haven't even looked at what's involved with the swap out .... just thought that I would ask in advance if anyone has done this and for any tips/tricks before I start.

Even just a brief note on what needs to be removed in what order would be of enormous help.

Thanks as always.

Steve

Job done .... man, what a prick of a job to get those bottom bolts out !

One more tips from me, loosen/remove the sump skid plate so you can recover your ring spanner when you drop it, which you surely will.

I used a Jaycar replacement alternator .... about $360 from the local Aussie Auto shop available overnight. You can buy $100 cheaper again off eBay, I couldn't afford to the time to shop around and wait for delivery.

Thanks again Fedoops and Ozhonda for the intel.

Steve

Can I ask where people are buying non-genuine Alternator replacements from?

I'm located in Victoria.

In addition, any good workshops who could install it for me?

eBay, and any mechanic can do it, it's a pretty straight forward job.
