Hi everyone and thanks for reading my question. I have searched all over the net and can not find the answer. My 2010 odyssey was running perfectly all morning and when I got home, I unhooked the trailer. Later I went to start the car and it would not run. It will fire but then after a second it stalls as if it is out of fuel. I know I have enough fuel. I changed the battery for a brand new one so power is fine. The symptoms are,
1. Headlights work
2. Radio works
3. Ac works
4. Windows work
5. Lights behind dash work as when you insert the key.
6. No instruments light up on the dash except for headlights if you turn them on.
7. No tacho, speedo, fuel or temp gauges.
8. Sunroof not working.
9. Ignition starts fuel pump.
10. Ignition makes the relay click three times.
11. Car starts as usual but within a second it dies.

This has me really frustrated. I have double checked all the fuses including the big ones under the bonnet. Is there a major fuse I have not found?

Thanks, Damian.

Sounds like the computer fuse is blown.
There's a couple of fuse boxes under the bonnet, both sides, near the battery and opposite IIRC.

Check the trailer wiring isn't shorting out somewhere in the back.

Thanks I'll have a look on the other side under the bonnet for more fuses. I'll let you know.

I can only see fuses near the battery nothing on the other side. I will get an auto electrician to help me and let you know the results.

It has been at the mechanic all day and he can't work it out. He rang his mates and no one has heard of this problem. The mechanic then rang the techs at honda and no one there has heard of this problem either. It's great to be a pioneer but I need my car. I think it is going to Honda tomorrow and we'll see if they can get to the bottom of it. Stay tuned.

There's a heap of tiny plugs under the dash - looks like about 5 small electronic modules - perhaps one has come loose?

Interested to hear what they find.

Fusebox is next to the driver's right foot, just forward of the door. Should be near the bonnet latch.

does the CEL (check engine light) stay/blink on??

No there was no CEL as the entire dash was blown. It has been at honda for the last three days and they actually told us that the fuses were in the wrong spots and all around the wrong way which wouldn't have helped!!?? As if that could be the case. Anyway they had to reset and reprogram the computer at a cost of $660. So the computer wasn't technically blown as such because they didn't replace it, but some sort of glitch was in there causing the problem. No one really knows why or what but the car is back and my wallet is much lighter.

The fuses excuses cost u $660.. All it was really was an ecu reset..

I bet the ecu went to safe/limbo mode which caused your dash and engine to shut down..

Those buggers just wanted dem easter bonus early.. Fml!

i feel exactly the same. I hate it when they have you like that.

I am sure it wouldnt of been just a ecu reset, it takes time to diagnose those types of faults hence the labour cost.
