Hi! Need a new motor in my 88 Integra..
The old one was a 1.6l, can I fit a bigger motor as a straight swap? I have called around a few places and found a brown motor but if I'm gonna spend the money is there a motor with a bit more power I can fit?
Any ideas much appreciated.

just put a b16/b18 in it.
basically a straight swap, if u can get a B16a (JDM SiR1 motor) with a gearbox and ecu + wiring, then your wining, usually one around for 1500$ and all the wiring will go straight in.

however ur best bet is probably upgrading cars in general. because the labour rates might make it not worth while for such an old car unless ur really a enthusiast.

unless your 88 civic is in perfect condition, and u wanna keep it forever then theres no point doing a K swap.

EDIT
re-read that and noticed it said integra in which case you should sell it off and buy a new car if you can afford to.
Also i noticed you have 2 threads for the same subject, this one has the most vague title
