Hi,

I am currently having a debate with a friend..

He was involved in a minor accident in which the car behind him has bumped into the rear of his vehicle which has put a dent into the rear boot and a gash on the rear bar.

The problem is that my friend's car is registered under his name BUT the car is insured full comprehensive under his dad's name and is not listed as a second driver.

Will he still get paid out by the insurance company, even though he is not at fault?

depends on type of policy

some policies dont allow another driver, so he's screwed

some policies do, so he'll be okay


If he's not at fault then he can approach the other car's insurance company (providing the other person is insured and put in a claim for damages), then the other person's insurance will deal with it no questions asked.
