I am experiencing some form of rattles from the engine bay and under the car somewhere but since i am not a mechanic or have the tools required to have a proper look under the car i have only been able to see so much.
today i was driving home and i was pulling up to park i hear this clanking noise then something hit the road, i jump out and i see a massive bolt on the ground which was REALLY hot, im guessing its from my plm headers, i told the mechanic to make sure all the bolts were tight before in stalling them, they have been in there for 3 months approximately.
do you guys recommend anyone i can take my car to that will be good/ reasonable price, to sort out where all these sounds are coming from, these rattles, and noises that have started a couple of days ago, its really really frustrating.
i am from the campbelltown region.

thanks guys, all input appreciated.

Got a picture of the bolt?

We
May be able to tell you where it came from. I doubt if you just lost one bolt from the header to the head that it will cause a rattling noise, unless all of them are loose.

i dont have a picture at the moment, i will call up the mechanic today and see if i can take it to them, if not ill put the pic of the bolt up.
mate i dont know, im not saying its the bolt from the header to the head, im saying that maybe its a bolt that was connecting the pieced of the header together as it was in like 4 pieces.
but yeah, rattling started approx3 days ago, cant seem to figure out where its coming from, i just want to sort this out ! :(

i just looked up this pic on google, they are plm headers, its pretty much that bolt you see holding the two pieces together there http://i58.tinypic.com/f1l00y.jpg

The 2 long bolts in the picture. Shouldn't be an issue to put it back. ask your mech to check the heatshield bolts as well while he is under the car.

Ok will do thanks for the prompt responses. Should ask them to check out the rattling in the engine bay too.

Exhaust heat shields are renowned for rattling on dc5, I check these.
