Hi all, finally got my d16 running thanks to ECU MAN. Now there seems to be more problems though. After the engine starts to get warm it starts to surge from 1000rpm to 2000rpm over and over again like a partern. I've cleaned the iacv and TB in an attempt to fix this but no luck. Could this be a vacuum leak or faulty iacv, or something else?

Second question, took the car for a drive, seems too have very little power or acceleration in any gear, even first and second. What could cause this, could this be related too the above issue?

Could it either be a faulty o2 sensor? Maybe your tps needs adjusting.. Maybe just clean your o2 sensor to make sure and see if any improvement.

Idle surging could be mostly vacuum leak, get you self carb cleaner spray can, start spraying around throttle body, inectors, vaccum hoses, brake booster, every thing around intake. when car dies than there the problem.
Discconnect iacv and seen what will happen.
Is it swap d16y4? what ecu r u using?

It is the factory ecu that came with the engine.

check all your vacuum lines, adjust the Idle screw all the way down with the engine running - this stopped it for me when i decided to clean my intake area up. the IACV controls the air at idle anyway so no reason for it to be open unless it makes it worse or brings on another proble,.

also do the FITV clean and tightening, the FITV might be making it have a fit because there is air in the coolant and it send the unit on and off basically giving u a hot idle then cold so it seems to be surging.

ill check for leaks again. going to try a known working tb as well. does d16y4 have a fitv screw? ive looked and found nothing.

did u check the TPS as in the sensor make sure its set properly, u dont need to take the throttle body off, and try a "working one" since a throttle body will just work either way it gets pulled open, job done.
