Hey guys, Caydenn here from Sydney NSW, Recently I purchased my first project car and have been hard at work in the engine and interior of the car etc. I have been having a ton of fun working on the car and making everything run well. However I have gotten to the point of working on the body of the car and I need some help. I am getting to the near end of the project which is the body work of the car. Now the favour that I need is that I need somewhere to do the spray work on the car. I am able to do the prep all myself but I just need a garage or even a warehouse to work. I have all the tools to do the work I just have literally no where to do. Any help would be massively appreciated. I am located in the Hills so somewhere nearby would be amazing but beggars can't be choosers! If anyone is going to recommend renting a both, I would love to but don't really have the money to do so.
Cheers
Caydenn

Anyone please guys :/ I know it's not a normal thing to ask for but it would mean alot and help out a ton!
If you really want me to pay I could try scrapping the money together to pay someone to use their place

Do you have no actual structure to work in, or no actual land?
I'd suggest just setting up a big tent personally.
Otherwise hire a booth for a day.

Go to bunnings and buy the marquee.
its basically a party tent with side closings. Its 6 x 3 meters so it will fit a car nicely inside wit room to walk around.
Just be careful, make sure you have help.
Cable from compressor can hit body. Have someone just to hold the cable.
Change in spray angle while doing the roof. - Problem only if ur short like me.

Since your spraying at home. From my experience. DO NOT BE LAZY on the prep.
I mean to the last detail before u spray. Sanding, fix dents, parts removed, prep wash, use special cloth, cut smaller pieces of tape for covering areas not to be sprayed, clean your gun, clean your compressor lines + filters. This took me approx 5 days to do at home. If were to do it again, maybe 2-3 days depending on how many panels i remove for individual spraying.
You can't be lazy and skip cut any corners when doing this at home.
Specially if this is ur 1st time spraying, dont waste money on a booth.
Just get the tent and do it in the backyard.
Careful using 2pak paint at home also. Its illegal. You get a warning if you get caught. If caught again, I think its a 40k fine.
Also to note, use mask for 2pak paint. The clear coat will travel in air. Make sure no other cars or things that are important is near. Wear a over roll. Only thing i hated when I did it. Was trying to remove the hardener from your body.

Yeah personally I wouldn't be giving my shed to somebody for a respray. It's a messy job without proper ventilation systems... and the finish you get will likely be second-rate.
