4300K is the best IMO.
It gives you the most usable light. 5000k is alright if you like the blue tinge, you'd only be loosing a few lumens. Anything higher and you'd be loosing light output.

Also make sure you get a quality bulb, not a cheap one off ebay. Knock off bulbs won't last as long, and won't be as bright. There's also a slight chance they'll catch on fire, but I've never seen it happen.

Sorry for the late reply. I'd recommend OSRAM or Philips.

Depends on how much you really want to spend, but those are some of the choices.

The OSRAM Xenarc Cool Blue Intense are 5000K and the Philips Xenon Xtreme Vision is 4800K. The rest are around the 4300K mark. Check the details for the exact temperatures.

I'm not saying this place is the best to buy from, but it's a good place to start looking.

+1 OSRAM CBI 5000k has more lumens then the stock 4300k and a better colour too.

Best looking temperature to me is 3000K for hids. Gives you orange lights but also gives you the evil reflective alien green eyes from a distance.

Most stock bulbs are 4300K. Personally I like the white/blue tinge look so I wouldn't go under 4300K. I'd go 4300K-5000K for best light output.

I'm still using stock bulbs (4300K). They're good, but not the best.

TBH 3000K looks crap. I like the white light that comes from HIDs

You should go 5000K if you don't want to loose your blue tinge.

you can only see orange when you take a picture. But in real life with projector headlights, you will see the green eyes due to the refraction of the 3000k light on the sphere projection.
