Admins.. Could we make this thread/post a sticky? We dont appear to have a topic in this Model specific...thnx

Let me start this off,

Finally fitted a pair of fronts RDA dimpled and slotted rotors and ACRE pads after a long wait on the ones that came wit the car..

Results were awesome and now have a better grip.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/16/geseve2u.jpg

Old pads appeared to be Bendix Ultimax which were more metal compound and literally destroyed the rotors..

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/16/dyqymujy.jpg

Clean, and looks, feels better..

After 8 runs of brake pad/rotor wear-in.. Its allllll gooooddd now..

Also fitted a set of STANCE Mindset wheels (From the US) thnx to a mate of mine..

16x8 +25 on 195/45/16 Stretch tyres...

Now just need to ditch the front lip so i can go lower..

Hopefully your RDA dimple rotor are fine...

mine are slightly warped from new and make a ch-ch-ch-ch type sound as speed increases due to high spot

also have read of others warped on arrival,Im thinking they slot and dimple them then heat treat them and the heat is causing warping

and the dimples arent even uniform in depth

either way theyre cheap shit and I'll be going back to oem next

Tru dat bro.. Shiiee so far its ok .. Have done the brake/rotor wear-in test.. On low and high speeds .. Soft to hard then hard to soft braking.. Seems fine and bot making any noises or wobble feel..

Fingers cross!

If this happens then im going DBA T2/3 like on my ODC!

Didn't do today, but I installed Progress 19mm RSB on my Jazz last year. Have to thank fitfreak.com for all the information. http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-generation-ge8-specific-diy-repair-maintenance-sub-forum/51056-diy-progress-rear-sway-bar-install.html Part #62.1061

Definitely decreases body roll and can be felt the most when going through roundabout.

Also changed to 205/50 R16 and the car feels a lot different now, not the most comfortable ride, but a lot more firmer than it was before.

THIS!

Now I know why the rotors were making them sounds.

But she feels fine. Brakes good and takes abuse just as good.

Sound has now dropped to, really have to concentrate to hear it.

I also recommend painting the non friction surfaces. It starts to rust quiet fast. Plus the look appeal.

You think the retailers should give us a refund on this issue? Kinda cut come to think about it.

amant02
22-03-2014, 09:53 AM
Same!

Or drive thru's

Even The walls on the M5 and M7 the noise rebounds, making it louder.

Rage King
22-03-2014, 06:42 PM
Havent experience them noises yet, but have had abused the braking already due to some fcker not paying attention and suddenly brakes in peak hr traffic.. Lucky had new pads, rotors and proxes 4 ... :)

Just roll and flare out the rear guards .. Got all 4 of mine done and no more scrubbing even on humps and full load passengers.

Though what the jazz has going for it
It handles freakin' well for a stock car

Over one year bummmppp! ^

Man, this thread needs moarr active actions!

So, I was looking for a new daily. I wanted excellent fuel economy, within my budget, and had to be a Honda... to be the criterias. And so I acquired myself yesterday a '06 Honda Jazz VTi-S, as a daily, for a great price.
At a reasonable mileage of 110k kms, and as I'm the 2nd owner, I am satisfied!

The first owner is from HK, me too. He bought it new when he was 21. I'm 21 now, and it's my turn. Coincidence?

The only thing that I am bummed about is that it was made in Thailand. From my preliminary research, their manufacturing standards are as on par with factories in Japan.
Wanted that extra JDM credit. Oh well...

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/U7MP_gzOInJuou1w587O-rh4ZC0S42MVYKIMQ2A4F4w=w1108-h623-no

The only mods done are:

- JDM dash radio console
- Old model, flip-out DVD/CD/GPS player
- 17" wheels from Tempe Tyres apparently, with 205s, and aftermarket wheel nuts (to suit aftermarket wheels)

I ordered Ebay window visors as soon as came home from buying da Jazz yesterday. At $58 delivered for the set, I'll see how these held on by tape visors hold up.

So, as want absolute the best fuel consumption as possible, these 17"s wrapped in 205s aren't ideal, for cornering; yes, but for an underpowered car like the Jazz, it's not desirable.

So my to do mod list is:

- Light-weight 15" JDM rims with 175 or 185.
- A bit of weight reduction
- SRI for improved engine efficiency
- Lowering properly to about 3cm lower, for that recommended 2 finger gap.

... all this after I get my project EG finished. -.-

Ok, this thread is unoffically mine! :D

So I started weight reduction.
My aim is to reduce as much weight as possible, with a full interior look, you know what I'm sayin'.
With that said, there's nothing much to shed off.

First gen Jazz didn't come with a space saver wheel, instead a stock one, so I went hunting for one.
Found myself one from a 3rd gen Jazz owner who oppositely swapped the space saver with a stock wheel.

Stock Vti-s 15" alloy wheel approx. 90-95% tread = 16.1kg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/4qpG21qOP5LC0QxuGZmGILVwlFGfYPN_vesInZ8eHMk=w1186-h667-no

Brand new unused 2015 Jazz Space Saver = 10.1kg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/6g9Xoi_rxB8DqjRX7MJ4yiJoTiNomMZe8Xg4Vv2SsJk=w1186-h667-no

Saved 6kg right there, yea!

I have no use for the rear parcel tray, so I removed it = -1.8kg

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/tsy1AoDXNFFK929Cqg4txrcE8ze__L00Baf7u7OqJEU=w1186-h667-no

Also took of: 2 small rubber grommets from I dunno where, 1 centre wheel cap (off spare wheel), plastic rear boot trim handle and rear middle floor mat = -4** grams

So as of now, I have taken off 8.2kgs.
