Car in question: 88 build date ed/ef civic wagon rt4wd
Current motor: D15b4, 483, xxx k's original and unopened.
Noob question:
Would like to know what motor to keep an eye out for as a potential engine swap
Requirements: I like carbs, would like new motor to be a d series and allow me to retain all factory stuff like existing carbs, air con, ps etc.
Im aware this has been covered quite a few times, but im taken a back by the multitude of d series variations. Minime swap has been considered but much more work then I care for.
I'm more then happy to settle for a lower km D15b4 but curious to see if a d16xx would be a straight swap.
Current motor runs perfectly but does blow some smoke up past 5, 000rpm, rings are probably worn as it's drinking a bit of oil.
So if anything, will a d16 block work with a d15head?
