Oh god, please no HID for fog lights. Unlike with low beams, where the light is directed downwards, fog lights just shoot light straight forward, and will blind everyone driving the other way, be it into a pole or into you. That or if you actually drive in the fog, you'll end up blinding yourself. You could try LED if you just want a different color, they are bright but not as bright as HID.

+1 to ChaosMaster's post.

If you want a colour that matches your stock HID headlights, go for any number of halogen blubs out there that produce a white light. Or LED.

Fog light colours other that white or yellow do not comply to ADR regulations and are not legal.

Please no HIDs for fog lights... Fog lights used inappropriately are annoying enough (you cannot use them if the weather is clear), without pissing people off further with dazzling colour light shows.

So 10k - 12k Kelvin HID? I should also add, the higher the colour temp, the less you see on the road when it rains. And as HZ mentioned, it's illegal and a dead give away. Where as 6k can be considered pure white with a blue tinge, and is used on some cars out of the factory, there isn't a car with purple lights as OEM spec, so the cops won't need a second thought to pull you over.
