Ok so I have a 1996 honda civic 1.6L VTEC, D16Y8. After the last 2 months or so I've noticed every now and then my car will stutter at the beginning of 1st and 2nd but I just did a compression test and all cylinders are 140 so I don't know what it could be I'm doing a fuel filter change soon I've replaced spark plugs and leads.... any ideas could it be my injectors need cleaning? I don't know I'm lost

Good to hear. But 140 PSI compression on a warm engine is very weak just so you know. Won't be getting a lot of power out of that motor.

Just run the car with decent petrol and the injectors should stay clean. BP 98 and 7-Eleven 98 are the ones to use.

So since all the cylinders are at 140psi I went down to work and bought some rislone compression repair with ring seal and after driving about 10K's I'm feeling a difference already!! It might all be in my head so as soon as I get a chance I'm going to do a compression test and I'll let you all know what I get :)

Ok everybody I'm in shock just did a compression test after 50kms of driving with this rislone compression repair stuff and all cylinders are hitting 170!!! Or just about! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/08/6yqemu4y.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/08/u7e8umuh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/08/9upugy5u.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/08/zesu9ene.jpg

This stuff is legit! If your having low compression I highly recommend it!!http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/08/y4ygy2ud.jpg

Bandaid fix mate. With 140psi there's either an issue with your valves or your piston rings.

Personally I don't use those kinda of additives but if it's helping for now that's great and you'll notice 30psi across the board.

You still have a bigger issue though and nothing but a reco will fix that.

If it's something to do with my piston rings it could have possibly fixed the issue but I'll do a test later on in a month or so then I'll do an oil change and test it and if it has low compression again I'll see if it'll fix it again and then what's the problem with adding this stuff every time I do an oil change?

No problem really to my knowledge, except that you're not actually fixing the problem.

You can't 'fix' piston ring sealing issues by using an engine treatment. They need to be replaced, cylinder walls honed, and run-in again properly. AFAIK basically anything else is a bandaid like I said earlier.

See how you go in 5,000 KMs. I'll be interested to see if the engine is still compressing that well.

I will let you know :) thanks for the advice and opinion though!
