Depends on new cams lift duration, best to research cam profiles and what you use your car for. Some cams with massive lift will be lumpy as fk and will sacrifice low end torque for top end power, no good for daily traffic etc.
I've got aftermarket cams in my ae86 and it's well worth it. Completely changed the character of the motor.
If its a daily use car shop around for a fast road use cam.
Also get a lightweight flywheel, re tune your ecu. Dont bother with slotted/drilled rotors as its not any benefit, just buy good pads.
Also suspension and wheels are things to look at before you go for engine work.
No point on power without handling
